Eating low fat recipes should not mean depriving yourself. It is possible to enjoy delicious food without sacrificing flavor. You can lower the fat in existing recipes by switching regular cheese for low fat cheese or whole milk for skim milk, or you can follow low fat recipes.

This applies to appetizers as well as entrees and if you are hosting a party or buffet you can make low fat appetizers without anybody guessing, because they will taste so good! Here are some good ideas for healthy and easy party appetizers:

Tuna Stuffed Chili Peppers

This dish is great because it is so creamy. Creamy dishes tend to be high in fat and calories but by using the right kind of cheese and mayonnaise, you can make this dish healthy and low in calories. This recipe serves sixteen people.

What you will need:

    * 3 oz low fat Neufchatel cheese
* 2 oz can chopped green chilies
* 2 tablespoons fat free mayonnaise
* 4 poblano peppers
* 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
* 2 tablespoons minced green onions
* 2 tablespoons minced cilantro
* 6 oz can tuna in water

How to make them:

Core and de-seed the poblano chilies but leave them whole. Mix the mayonnaise and Neufchatel, beating the mixture with an electric whisk until smooth. Add the green chilies, tuna, cilantro, cumin, and green onion and stir well. Spoon this mixture into the poblano peppers. Cover and chill them for a few hours, then cut each stuffed poblano into one-inch pieces and serve garnished with sprigs of cilantro.

Crunchy Oven Fried Vegetables

This is a brilliant recipe for vegetarians and you can serve the oven-fried vegetables with a low calorie ranch dip. This recipe makes enough to serve sixteen people. The mushrooms tend to cook faster than the other vegetables. As soon as the vegetables are golden brown and tender, they are done.

What you will need:

    * 4 tablespoons grated parmesan
* 1 cup fine Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
* 8 cups thick zucchini slices, cauliflower florets, button mushrooms or sliced onions
* 8 tablespoons low calorie Italian salad dressing
* 1/2 teaspoon paprika

How to make them:

Spray cooking oil spray over a nonstick cookie sheet. Stir the parmesan, paprika, and breadcrumbs together. Drizzle the vegetables with the salad dressing and toss them well. Roll them in the breadcrumb mixture, and then arrange them on the cookie sheet. Bake for about ten minutes at 450 degrees F, turning once during the cooking time.

Plum Dipping Sauce

Do not forget the dipping sauces when planning your holiday appetizers. The following recipe makes a sweet and delicious dipping sauce, which is rich in color and has an amazing flavor. Everything from egg rolls and chicken kabobs to bread, veggies, and crackers can be dipped in here.

What you will need:

    * 1 cup plum jam
* 1/4 cup orange juice
* 1 teaspoon dry mustard
* 2 teaspoons cider vinegar
* 1/2 teaspoon grated orange zest
* 1 teaspoon light soy sauce

How to make it:

Add all the ingredients to a pan and cook over a moderate heat until smooth. Serve the sauce warm with bread, crackers, or vegetable crudites for dipping.

Thanks to oven recipes, steaming, hot food is now often readily available, and can be reused for an amount of times. Oven recipes have been around for as long as the oven itself. In 3200 B.C., settlers among the Indus Valley Civilization were already reported to have had ovens in their mud and brick houses. However, the Greeks initially utilized the oven for bread-making, so you could say that the first oven recipe was one for bread, As a result, over seventy different kinds of bread had been developed in Ancient Greece alone. After the Greeks progressed onto making various cakes and pastries, the oven became popular around the world. Nowadays, no kitchen is complete without a standard cardboard box-sized oven, and no food results from it without an oven recipe.

Oven recipes have no clear-cut definition, but naturally they require the usage of an oven. It is often assumed that oven recipes do not involve any other technology used for cooking, but most of the time, that is not the case. One may fry, grill, boil or use any other method of cooking for the ingredients, as long as using an oven is the last step before achieving the final, tasty product. Ovens are used for roasting and heating food; therefore, most oven recipes cover either pastries or meat products, such as casseroles.

The highlight of oven recipes is the wide range of food one can produce from just one kind of technology. A common misconception for oven recipes is that they are all difficult to make, as well as time-consuming. When thinking of them, people usually think of cakes, pies, roast beef, and casseroles. However, most do not realize that a lot of them are simple. In fact, some oven recipes include recipes for toast, brownies and even covers food made from leftovers, such as fish and chips. A roast beef may be expensive to cook, but simple toast for breakfast, thanks to the toaster oven, costs less than a dollar to make.

As mentioned earlier, leftovers are common ingredients for the easiest recipes. Extra beef or pork can just be thrown into a casserole, while other foods can simply be reheated in a microwave oven. If a dish can’t be consumed entirely, leaving it in an un-operated oven will keep it safe from ants, and it won’t rot quickly. Oven recipes are easy ways to save money, especially when on a tight budget. One of the few disadvantages is that, with leftovers, the quality of food may not be as good as before. Also, ovens require a lot of grease, vegetable oil or butter to operate, and most results of oven recipes are quite oily. However, oven recipes cover their fair share of healthy food. You just have to find the right recipe!

Everybody wants to have clear, healthy glowing skin. You can achieve this by gathering the following ingredients, and following the simple steps below. It’s simple and takes little time. In order to get the right skin, it is important to look at the part played by nutrition in skin care.

Tips

Drink a lot of water: Just by hydrating your body, you will notice quick improvements in the quality of your skin. Because the body uses water you drink first, if you’re not getting enough, the skin may not ever get any extra. By increasing your water intake to at least 8-10 glasses each day, you’ll notice your skin become more plump, supple, healthy and young looking.

Green Smoothies: Green smoothies are amazing skin food. Green smoothies come loaded with antioxidants, minerals, vitamins and other micro-nutrients that your skin requires to be healthy and look young.

Protect your skin from the elements. If you spend time outdoors, particularly skiing, add a sunscreen to your regimen. In the winter, brisk winds add to the damage from the elements. Your body may not feel warm, but you can still get sunburn. Studies show that we receive more ultraviolet rays in the winter than was previously thought.

Eat Yoghurt: Yogurt is the only dairy product that is good for your skin. During the fermentation process the probiotic bacteria make it easily digestible. The probiotic bacteria in yogurt are also very important for healthy, radiant skin because they improve the immune system and kill bacteria that cause acne and other skin problems.

Eat Fruits for Breakfast: Did you know that while you sleep your body is detoxifying and cleansing out the waste material from previous day? This is very important for healthy skin as these toxins and waste material can cause acne and other skin problems.

Diet

Two liters of water a day should be drunk this helps keep the skin hydrated and flush away toxins from the body

Eat vegetables & Fruit

Eat 2 – 3 portions of vegetables for lots of nutrients for the skin,

The best ones are below, but really any vegetable or fruit is good and in terms of vegetables try and eat them raw if you can.

Sweet potatoes tomatoes and spinach.

Protection

Cleansing: Your skin requires proper cleansing to keep it properly toned and clean. Cleansing removes the dust and stress from your face by cleaning the pores and circulating the blood supply. Use a gentle cleansing agent. Face washes are specially prepared to be effective at cleansing your skin gently and tenderly. For your body use a good mild and moisturizing soap.

Moisturizing: It is essential to use good moisturizers since the UV rays and pollution dries your skin thoroughly and makes it lifeless. There is a range of moisturizers available in the market to suit your skin type but what is important here is to pick the right one with the right components in it..

Sunscreens: With the rise in pollution level and the intensity of the ultraviolet rays it is very essential to use sunscreens during daytime to protect your skin form any kind of damage and premature wrinkles even if you are at home because these rays come in through the windows and there is no running away from it

Facials: Facial is also a vital step towards beautiful skin. Facial thoroughly cleanse your face and remove the top dead layers of the skin resulting into having a beautiful and glowing skin. Facial moisturizers your face effectively and help in faster cell renewal and relaxes the muscle of the face.

Healthy skin happens when we eat good foods, exercise regularly, minimize stress and protect our skin from the harsh environment.

The food health vitamin intake amounts of certain foods are included in the nutritional labelling. This labelling is important for a mortal to consider and helps ensure that they are receiving the correct food health vitamin intake from the foods that they eat. The nutritional information is often represented as a percentage of the recommended regular allowance of apiece vitamin and mineral and can help assess the value of the foods in the quest for good food health vitamin intake.

There are also a number of items that a person may want to restrict in their diet as part of their good food health vitamin intake. Again, the nutritional labelling of certain foods can help a person to see how high a product is in these undesirable contents. Salt and fat, for example, may be items that a person wants to consider limiting as part of their good food health vitamin intake even though they are not strictly vitamins. The majority of people actually refer to nutrients when they use the word vitamin and food manufacturers are aware that a mortal is looking at minerals and other items when they are considering their good food health vitamin intake. Fiber is another element that many people are more aware of as forming an essential part of a balanced diet and is necessary for good food health vitamin intake.

We all love to have a glass of wine, and know tha6t certain things taste well together. But when it comes to planning a meal, it sometimes gets confusing. This article gives an overview of types of wines that taste great with food.
It also tries to give you a few ideas of particular wines matched with a selection of dishes to get you on the right track. This specific article concentrates on white wines and the flavours that go well with them.

As a rule, white wines are best with fish, pasta, rice dishes and white meats, but this can be changed depending on the flavour of the wine. Many white wines, especially Chardonnays, have a strong oaky taste which enables them to work with some red meats as well as highly flavoured pork and chicken dishes. In fact, in the case of some white wines, they are actually too strong to work with lighter, less spiced food.

“There has been much talk about new vegetarians and critics about finding an easy vegetarian recipe. In some cases, the need to find an easy vegetarian recipe is motivated not just by the need to really find one but to satisfy curiosity as well. Is there really such a thing as an easy vegetarian recipe?

The Value of Cooking at Home

Some new vegetarians may be tempted to easily buy take outs at vegetarian restaurants. Most of us know however that there are great advantages to cooking meals at home. Home cooked meals are almost always cheaper to prepare and have the additional benefit of binding members of a family in a comfortable atmosphere. One other major plus factor for you as a vegetarian is that you are 100% sure of the cleanliness of your vegetables and what exactly goes into a dish.

Knowing What Type You Belong To

The first step to finding the right easy vegetarian recipe to cook and serve is to find out what type of vegetarian you are and the people you are going to cook for. The most common type of vegetarian is the lacto-ovo-vegetarians who eat vegetables, fruits, eggs and dairy products. A lacto vegetarian eats the same kinds of food except for the eggs.

If you are a vegan type of vegetarian, then you would probably want to do away with any animal meat and animal-based food in your easy vegetarian recipe. There are other kinds of vegetarians but these are the most common. Once you know where you, your family and your friends belong to, finding an easy vegetarian recipe will be easier.

The Recipe Myth

A common misconception with vegetarian recipes is that they are complicated to prepare. Since most vegetarians also lead busy lives, this may seem discouraging. There is however no truth to this common belief. In fact, some vegetarian recipes are the easiest to prepare.

Some vegans for example simply puree or blend fruits and vegetables for truly fresh and satisfying fibrous meals. Less strict vegetarians however also have a variety of choices. For lacto-ovo-vegetarians for example the only thing that needs to be omitted are meat products and meat based products. This means that you can basically sauté or steam anything you like as long as there isn’t any meat in it. For a truly substantial, tasty and healthy easy vegetarian recipe, you can substitute meat with tofu, beans, legumes and nuts.

Stocking

It is advisable for vegetarians to stock variety of fruits, vegetables, grains and dairy products at home. Aside from the usual fruits and vegetables, you can also stock up on spices, seeds, olive oil, pasta, rice, cereal and noodles. Just imagine what you can cook up even with just these basic ingredients. An easy vegetarian recipe can be as convenient as sautéing some vegetables, spices, beans, tomato sauce and topping it on rice.

Washing

One thing you have to remember about any easy vegetarian recipe is that you have to properly wash and clean all of your fruits and vegetables even those with inedible peelings. Most of these food items have changed hands so often before reaching you that they’re bound to carry some dirt or bacteria. Wash your food with running water and use a brush for fruits and vegetables with dimpled, corrugated or hard skins.”
